After receiving formal education at the School of Visual Arts and the Fashion Institute of Technology, respectively, Erie Chang and Sehee Kim met as co-workers in NYC's fashion district. Honing their skills by designing, creating, and painting rich textiles, the two set out to start a company of their own. With the concept of designing quality clothing for their kids to bask in, Floatimini was born. Focusing on swimwear, the two moms were inspired in creating brighter, more diverse, and more durable (antibacterial, quick-drying, SPF-50 protection) suits for their own children [3 daughters and 2 sons between them].
Chang and Kim design each piece with an intense dedication to quality and style; traveling the world to keep current with the latest trends, innovations, and perspectives on “fun.” Their goal has always been to create the “perfect pool print." The label, initially producing swimwear for boys' and girls', has refocused on suits and other apparel including knit-dresses, rompers and cover-ups just for girls ages 6 months to 8 years old.
Featuring bright colors, up-to-date styles with sophisticated details, Floatimini's 2014 collection adds a taste of vintage look with flirty details like ruffles and fringe. Each item is meticulously designed with the love and attention only a beach-loving mama can bring!
Imagine. Then Play. Floatimini.
